PV4. Just Because

{to Volare}:

VI-EIRA! Oh oh oh oh
VI-EIRA! Oh oh oh oh
He comes from Senegal
He plays for Arsenal

Wasn't feeling it today at work and came across this. After watching it, I am whole again.

PV4. Legend.

I hate that his leaving Arsenal barely preceded the proliferation of the YouTubes, cause his song was the greatest, and it always gave me chills to hear 38,000 people screaming it at the top of their lungs, and gave me mega chills when 5,000 travelling Gooners made it ring around Old Trafford loud and strong after he was wrongfully sent off by the cheating fakery of Ruud Van Nistelcunt {nice penalty, fuckface}. If PV4 had played 1 more year at Arsenal, there would be dozens of vids of his song on the internet. Oh well, you can catch a tiny glimpse of it here at the 3.20 mark and you can hear it start to ring around Highbury while they await PV4 to lead Arsenal out of the tunnel against ManUtd here.

That's it. Hopefully one day someone will post some proper versions. Until then we'll have to get by on the weird ass 1998 dancehall/euro techno version by The Away Boyz.

To the tune of ‘She Loves You’ by The Beatles]

Fernando - Yeah Yeah Yeah
Fernando - Yeah Yeah Yeah
And with a touch like that, you know we should be glad

He came from sunny Spain
Came from Althetico-ooo
It's you we're dreaming of
And what you've got to show-ow
Fernando Torres, and he's wearing number nine
Fernando Torres, and he's scoring all the time

[Continues after the jump]

Fernando - Yeah Yeah Yeah
Fernando - Yeah Yeah Yeah
And with a touch like that, you know we should be glad

You think you've lost your God
Well I saw him yesterday
It's us he's thinking of
And he told me what to say

He said ‘Fernando
He's the best we could have had
We've got Fernando
And you know you should be glad!’ (wooooo)

Fernando - yeah, yeah, yeah
Fernando - yeah, yeah, yeah
With a mullet like that
You know he can't be bad

and :

To the tune of 'The animals went in two by two, hurrah! hurrah!

The armband song

His armband proved he was a red

Torres, Torres

'You'll never walk alone', it said

Torres, Torres

We bought the lad from sunny Spain

He gets the ball, he scores again

Fernando Torres, Liverpool's number nine!

na nar na nar
na nar na nar
na nar na nar
na nar na nar

Fernando Torres, Liverpool's number nine!

Anyway, "You'll never walk alone" does the same thing to me. Makes my arm hairs stand up when I hear those drunk scouse wailing it it, slow and long.
4 more days !!!!!!

Haha, and just think- he ALMOST scored as many goals as Adebayor last year {for 3x the price and 10x the hype} ;)

Not even. Champions League Qualifier 1st legs today & tomorrow for each of us.

In his first year in the league, coming from Spain.
I think all is even, if you consider the move and his experience.
Talk shit after this year.
BTW, Pepper is better than Stoopid, I saw your Twitter, and I've been off the weed for about 5 years.

KML- I was just busting your balls a little. Torres is great, it was just a little amusing all last year to hear about him over & over & over when the whole time Ade was producing the same # of goals- that's more a criticism of the media than of FT9 or The Pool.

Re: Pepper, you sure you're off the weed? I guess as far as the sound, it's certainly a matter preference, with SS trending more mellow/acoustic as time goes on and Pepper staying harder/more punk, so I can see where fans of the harder edgier sound might like them. But for me, it's a lot of noise and yelling, certainly more raw than refined, and as far as musical talent, I don't see anything in Pepper that approaches Kyle & Myles's abilities on guitar or the percussionist or the two horn players {which in truth isn't fair since Pepper doesn't have horns}. But for me SS has much better instrumentation, melody, rhythms, etc, and are much more versatile and polished, whereas Pepper is raw. It really doesn't matter in the end because 1) different strokes for different folks and 2) the 2 bands are longtime friends, came up together and have played with each other for 10+ years.

Really hoping Alonso doesn't play for Pool today so we can sign him- need a central midfielder bad, but not if he's CL cup tied...

Re: Pepper.
Do yourself a favor and listen to the studio albums, probably a little more melodious than you'd think. They are a little raw live, but still a great band. You can't really compare styles too much, except for the fact that they tour together, and that's not even a style.
True, Ade was a beast last year. Phelps and Torres need to have a love off to see who gets more. But all things considered, Torres was pretty phenominal, and with Keane on his side this year, watch out.

FWIW, I like Pepper more. Apples and oranges.
Group hug.
Now go away.
